Questions about Mother Earth

Do you think that the earth shifting on its axis will really have any sort of measurable effect on the planet? Do you think that catastrophes and wild weather of late are any indicators of planetary changes that threaten human life? How do you feel about 'scare science' that would tell us that we are in danger here on our little marble? And finally, does any of this make any difference at all in the way people relate to God or the church? Check these recent news stories

I agree with Thomas. I do wonder, what do you think of all the questions you asked?

My personal theory is that the earth is more alive and more resilient than static mechanical "law-driven" science understands. I believe she takes injury and grows past it. While I'm not a scientist, I just don't believe that we are one the verge of a catostrophic end to human life.

But my thoughts on God, admittedly influence that theory. The earth is His, and eveything in it. He is in it and through it and holds it all together. God inhabits all of the earth, all of it's matter and even the spaces between the matter. In my view, without his watchful involvement, it all explodes (or does it implode?) As long as he wants her to spin, she'll spin.

I don't want to rape mother earth any more than I want to kill any of God's creatures. But I drive my cars and I eat my steaks. I guess my lifestyle shows that I'm not too concerned the earth overheating or deep freezing.

Do I agree with the insurance adjusters who call a tsunami an "act of God"? I don't think I am smart enough to even try to answer that one.
